JENNIFER BLOCK is an award-winning independent journalist and author who writes about health, gender, and contested areas of medicine. Her articles and commentary have appeared in The Free Press, Boston Globe Ideas, Romper, The BMJ, Longreads, The New York Times, and more. Her first book, Pushed, led a wave of attention to the national maternity care crisis and is foundational text in university curricula and birth worker training. Jennifer began her career as an editor at Ms. magazine and contributor to The Village Voice and The Nation. She has been a Fellowship Coach with The OpEd Project since 2012.
