BRIANNA BARRETT

Associate, Partnerships

BRIANNA (“BRI”) BARRETT (she/her) earned her B.A. from Smith College in the Study of Women and Gender and her M.A. in African American Studies from Columbia University, where her thesis project analyzed the roots of the ballet industry’s lack of diversity and inclusion. She is from central New Jersey and is a veteran of The OpEd Project’s “Write to Change the World” workshop, which she attended virtually in the fall of 2020. Bri joined The OpEd Project because she is excited by the organization’s work to empower and amplify marginalized voices. She believes that history and media (in particular, by those whose stories and histories are unheard or erased) can play an important role in shaping our society. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, acting, and spending time with friends and family, and also doing research and creating commentary videos analyzing media and pop culture. Bri supports the Partnerships and Fellowships teams on data management, virtual event production, research, communications, and impact measurement.
