Special Back-to-Back Weekend Intensive

Los Angeles

November 15, 2014 10am-5pm

November 16, 2014 10am-5pm

You will receive an e-mail confirming all of the details the week prior to the seminar date.

Saturday, "Write to Change the World" Core Seminar: This highly interactive day-long seminar will challenge you to think more carefully and more expansively about your knowledge and experience, and why it matters. We will explore the source of credibility; the patterns and elements of powerful evidence-based argument; the difference between being "right" and being effective; how to preach beyond the choir; and how to think bigger--so that we can have greater influence and value in the world. You will emerge with a powerful argument for an idea or cause you believe in, and a network of high-level mentors. This seminar is about empowering you to find your voice and make a case for the ideas and causes you believe in--whether in print, online, on TV, before your board of directors, to potential funders or investors, or on the steps on Congress. And it is about the collective difference we can all make by doing so.

Sunday, "Generating Good Ideas," Level 2 Seminar: This one-day program is based on time-tested transformational models of learning, and builds on themes of expertise and influence explored in our core program. We explore how we can connect the dots between disparate ideas, fields, geographies, and time periods. We play cross-pollination games and explore the source of truly innovative thinking (where do good ideas come from?). We play games around timing and timeliness designed to stir creative thinking and discover unlikely, yet authentic, connections across people, time and space. Time permitting, we may explore multi-media adaptations of these themes. We may also include time to review and discuss your drafts and ideas, and a "pitch blitz," where participants try pitching our team, allowing us to explore in real time strategies for making people believe your good ideas are worth investing in.

There will be a happy hour immediately following Sunday's seminar from approximately 5:30-7:00 P.M. You’re welcome to invite your friends and colleagues.
